Yong Ho Kim
Vice President, Advisor & Co-Founder Associate Professor, SKKU Advanced Institute of Nanotechnology
Yong Ho Kim is a Vice President and co-founder of IMNEWRUN, serving as a Scientific Advisor. He is also an associate professor of SKKU Advanced Institute of Nanotechnology (SAINT) & Department of Nano Engineering at the Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU). His research lab designs proteins de novo sampled from nature’s backbone fragments via computational approach. Especially, his research interest lies on AI-driven computational protein design that is a field of combining artificial intelligence (AI) techniques with computational biology to design and engineer proteins for specific functions or purposes. Dr. Kim earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at M.I.T. in 2013. His background includes industrial technology development at LG Chem and academic contributions in protein design at the University of Pennsylvania and M.I.T. Notably, in collaboration with IMNEWRUN, Dr. Kim has made significant contributions to Sungkyunkwan University by playing a key role in establishing an Cryo-electron microscope (Cryo-EM) and a supercomputing center, demonstrating his dedication to advancing scientific infrastructure. Currently, his expertise extends to the field of synthetic biology, demonstrating a broad spectrum of research capabilities ranging from protein design to chemical biology and structural biology.
