Minah Suh
Vice President, Advisor & Co-Founder Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, SKKU
Minah Suh is a Vice President and co-founder of IMNEWRUN, serving as a Scientific Advisor. She has expertise in Neuroscience, Physiology, and Neuroimaging. She is also a professor of Biomedical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) and the director of the KIST-SKKU Brain Research Center. Her research interests lie within neuron-glial-vascular interaction in healthy versus diseased brains, such as Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, and brain cancer. Dr. Suh has actively been involved in research focused on developing novel therapeutics for degenerative brain diseases. Before co-founding IMNEWRUN, Dr. Suh had already established a successful career in academia. In 2000, she earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering with a major in Neuroscience from Northwestern University in the USA. From 2000 to 2002, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Physiology/Neuroscience department at NYU School of Medicine. In 2002, Dr. Suh joined a research team at the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center in the Neurosurgery Department of Weill-Cornell Medical College. There, she contributed to visualizing and identifying seizure foci in epilepsy patients for their treatment. In 2004, she transitioned to a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Neuroscience of Neurosurgery Department at Weill-Cornell Medical College. In 2008, Dr. Suh returned to Korea, assuming a faculty position at SKKU. She played a crucial role in establishing a cutting-edge brain science imaging research center located at N-Center. She also served as the founding chairperson of the Biomedical Engineering Department at SKKU. Recognized for her achievements, Dr. Suh received early tenure in 2015 and has since led research on neuro-glial-vascular interactions in the brain. She completed her BS and MS degrees in Physics at Ewha Womans University.
