Yeup Yoon, Ph.D is a Professor & Director in the Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Sciences & Technology, at Sungkyunkwan University and a professor at Samsung Medical Center. Before joining the Sungkyunkwan University in 2013, he was a director of Mogam Biotechnology Research Institute in Korea, where he started as leading scientist on cancer research. He has more than 30 years of experiences directing research and development projects including oncology, immunology, cell therapy, antibody therapeutics, vaccine, and protein therapeutics etc. He took the various leading positions of the directors in Samsung Medical Center on Office of R&D Strategy Planning, Samsung Biomedical Research Institute, Center for Animal Research & Molecular Imaging,and International Affairs. Dr. Yoon’s research interests include translational researches especially on Liver diseases such as NASH, Cirrhosis, and Hepatocellular carcinoma. The main focused area would be the comparative genomic analysis on the innate immune cells from the experimental animals to the patient samples through collaborating with the clinicians at Samsung Medical Center. His experiences can cover the various scope from the basic sciences to the clinical development of the research products. Dr. Yoon graduated from State Univ. of New York at Buffalo and holds a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology with postdoctoral experiences at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, USA.
